Is it just me or does the bio about being invloved in the entire film development sound arrogant?
His PR person didn't do a good job writing that piece. |

Here is a recent interview from Metro Canada:
Published June 25, 2007 Whos Hot: Actress beats odds DAVID LEYES Jeanette Name: Jeanette Roxborough Occupation: Actress Its clichéd, but true. You really can do anything if you believe in it strongly enough. jeanette roxborough Triumph over adversity is the plot line behind Jeanette Roxboroughs role as a mother to a physically challenged child both on and off the screen. On the Hollywood set of Bare Knuckles, an action-packed flick directed by Eric Etebari, Roxborough is in a state of controlled calm despite the long hours and fighting scenes in the exhausting California heat. Then again, shes only been in L.A. for a month. A month and already a starring role in a movie? It might sound like an overnight fairy tale come true, but for Roxborough, nothing could be further from the truth. The petite 55 blonde, who hails from Woodville, Ont. (population 600) had been a struggling actress in Toronto for eight years with short-lived roles in shows like Mutant X and Angels In The Infield. She had also found work as a stunt person in various projects like The Tuxedo and Witchblade, the TV series. Its clichéd, but true, says Roxborough. You really can do anything if you believe in it strongly enough. Those words reflect not only her career pursuits, but also her role as a single mom raising Teya, a daughter born deaf and stricken with severe cerebellar hypoplasia, a condition which compromises the growth of the brain resulting in a loss of motor skills. I discovered there are special people in this planet, who can help special kids, she says referring to a 60-year-old therapist she found in Chile without the support of the Ontario health system. After traveling to South America five times, Teya once prescribed to a wheelchair for life was miraculously able to walk. She was eight years old. Their story provided inspirational fuel for Bare Knuckles. The director, who had befriended Roxborough on the set of Witchblade, cast both mother and daughter into a revised script of the movie. Despite the desperately needed career break, Roxborough, however, was at a lull in life. Enter Toronto physical trainer and recent FAME National Lightweight Champion Jody Boynton, who whipped the actress back into shape for free. He gave of himself and really picked me up emotionally, as did Eric, the director. For those that have given to Roxborough, Roxborough has made it a mission to give back. She has established a fund, www.theteyafund.org, to help financially challenged families access specialized therapies for children with special needs. We were all just blown away by Jeanettes tenacity and talent, and inspired by her as a human being. Her story raised the level of our story, sums up producer Alison Richards. Short shoot. Must have been one of those quick and easy scripts. Either way...hope it went well and it's not just another dvd dust collector.

Seriously? One of "those quick and easy scripts?" Do you even know how pretentious and ignorant you sound?
I was on set for a day and there was nothing quick nor easy about that script, or the shoot. The shoot was so short because the entire cast and crew worked their butts off to make it so. They worked over 20 days straight, for 12 - 15 hours a day. They shot overnight, at the crack of dawn, and every hour in between. Disrespect like this just isn't necessary. |

No disrespect intended CalZephyr.
The term "quick and easy" simply means it's not a script that takes hundreds of thousands of dollars to produce, months of preparation time and huge amounts of costuming. It was a short shoot. That doesn't mean they didn't work hard to get it done and get it done right. I just hope it's a film that get's distributed and just doesn't disappear into Hollywood's black hole or ends up as a few minute clip on YouTube Travelingdog

Yes Cal, quick and easy is a description for scripts that do not require a lot of special effects, elaborate costumes or massive set build out. No one said making a movie is easy, just some movies are faster to do that others. Since you were there, give us a write up about it, how was it, what happened? The timing was just too short for us East coast folk to even think about going.

A first-hand account would be lovely, CalZ. Eric is fascinating when he is in work-mode and the film sounds like it is full of strong women and interesting people.
I've been curious about the "Western dress" instructions. Was it a bar scene? I'm glad someone was able to make it. Oldie |

Bare Knuckles' IMDb listing is up. Eric, in addition to directing, plays Troy and Lazar Rockwood seems to have a small part in it, too.

Here's an excerpt from the November 7, 2007 Tolucan Times:
Sir Anthony Hopkins, Always in Style Nov 07,2007 00:00 by Anita-Talbert f recently shot cameo scenes in Bare Knuckles written and co-starring Eric Etebari, at the fabulous Castle Kashon recently destroyed in the Malibu fires. My friend, Princess Lilly Lawrence, whose father was the Oil Minister under the Shah of Iran, owned this fabulous palace. All the irreplaceable treasures and memorabilia from the Princesss family Palace in Tehran were demolished. The Princess, who has a heart of gold and great sense of humor said, I was able to get a few Tiaras out. So many stars and people in the entertainment business lost so much, our hearts and best wishes go out to them all. |
