On the morning of December 24th the guards made their reports to the Warden regarding what they found out from the inmates. The entire prison is in total locked down until they could make sure that everyone involve was identified and handled.
Sara and Jake finished compiling all the evidence that they had gathered to give to the DA for arrest warrants to be issued on the list of names so that they could be arrested.
The Governor wanted to know who rescued him and the hostages. He is told by the Warden of the prison, that according to the prisoners statements, a prisoner named Ian Nottingham did it. But he believed that this was impossible because this prisoner was locked up in solitary confinement and also that he was paralyzed.
How many statements do you have that name this Ian Nottingham as the rescuer?
Over two hundred statements stating the same thing, Governor.
Do you really think that many men could be wrong?
No, Sir.
Have you spoken to this Ian Nottingham to see what he has to say?
No Sir, not yet.
Then I suggest that you do so quickly. I want answers today about this.
Yes Sir.

After talking with his attorney Fette agreed to tell everything he knew in exchange for doing the minimum sentence. Fette told Sara that a Hamilton Tyr contacted him. He told me that they knew that I was in trouble for gambling and they were calling in my debt. Hamilton Tyr told me what the plan entailed and what I was to do if I didnt want anything happening to my family.
What did he tell you to do?
It was a plan of murder and of escape. Gallo and two of Gallos associates would take Ian Nottingham and leave by an unlocked door left open by me. A police van would be waiting to take them outside the prison unnoticed because of the riot. I was to kill the Governor and Warden making it look like one of the other inmates had done the deed. They were going to wipe out my debt and pay me $5,000.00 for the deed.
Why didnt you come to the police and inform us what was going on?
I was afraid they are powerful people and I was sure that they would carry out the threat to my family. Can you protect me and my family from them?
They are in custody.
Do you know if anyone else was involved in this plan?
I got the impression that the Attorney General was behind everything.
Why is that?
I was ordered by her to bring Ian Nottingham to her and I saw Gallo coming out of the office she was in.
Do you have anything else you want to add?
The only thing I can think of is that it was Ian Nottingham that stopped me from doing what they told me to do. I was surprised to see him standing there. I knew he was paralyzed and I had taken him back to solitary and hog tied him as she had ordered me to. I know I locked both doors. How could he have gotten out?
Is that all you have to tell us? You havent left anything out?
Thats everything I know, I swear.
Sara and Jake left and he was taken back to the cell.
Jake and Sara then spoke to Hamilton who would agree to tell them what he knew as long as the death penalty was removed from the table. The D.A. agreed he wanted to know everything and everyone involved in this plan.

The Warden ordered that Ian Nottingham be brought to him as he wanted to question the prisoner himself. Duncan and Darius when down to the isolation cell to get Ian. They unlocked the outside cell door and as they opened the door they saw Ian standing waiting for them. Both men were shocked silent for a few moments.
You are to come with us and you better not give us any trouble, boy.
Sir yes Sir, no problem.
Darius threw Ian his clothes and after dressing Ian turned around and placed his hand on his head. Duncan unlocked the inside cell door, came in a cuffed Ians hands behind his back. They came out of the cell and went up to the Warden office.
You two can wait outside the door. I want to speak to this man alone.
Yes Sir. They left and waited outside the door.

Have a seat Mr. Nottingham.
If I may please Sir, I would rather stand. Ian kept his head bowed and eyes down not willing to look at the Warden.
Very well, I have looked into your record and background. You are a very unusual man Mr. Nottingham.
At that comment Ian lowered his head even further knowing that the Warden was now aware of what had been done to him by Irons.
I understand that you are the one responsible for ending the riot and saving myself, the Governor and the guards from being killed. Is that correct?
Yes Sir.
Would you please explain to me why you did it?
Innocent people were going to be hurt, it was the right thing to do, Sir.
You were paralyzed when you came in, would you like to explain how you are able to walk now?
You might say that I made a full recovery in solitary confinement, Sir.
Please explain to me how you were able to remove yourself from two locked cell doors and lock them back again without the use of any type of tool?
It is part of what I have been trained to do, Sir.
So you are telling me that if you so choose, you could remove the cuffs you have on and walk out of this prison without any difficulty in doing so?
That is correct, Sir.
I dont understand why you have not done it than. I have had men that dont have any of your abilities try to escape. And yet you had the opportunity to and didnt.
I am doing what is expected of a person who obeys the laws of this State, Sir.
You have the ability to prevent your death and you are telling me that you are not going to use that ability to free yourself?
That is correct, Sir.
The Warden scratches his head. I see. Do you want to say anything to me about what happened the last few days?
The only thing I have to say is that I hope that you do not punish the other inmates as they were misled by Gallo. When given the choice to either continue to follow Gallo or return to their cells they chose to return, Sir.
I see. I will consider what you have said. I am having you returned to your regular cell. Thank you Mr. Nottingham.
The Warden calls for the two guards and tells them to escort Ian back to his regular cell. After Ian leaves the Warden sit back in his chair and shook his head in disbelief of what he just heard.
As Ian and the guards entered the cell block everybody stopped what they were doing and just stood at their cell doors. The guards just looked around, that had never happened before and they were not sure what to make of it. Upon arriving at Ians cell they uncuffed him and he stepped inside. Duncan called out Lock down number 11.
Locking down 11, came the reply.
When the door closed everyone in the cell block began to clap their hands. Ian did not know what to make of what was happening. He just sat on his cot. After several minutes they quit and returned to what they had been doing. He noticed that it was not as noisy as it had been before the riot. Ian washed up then laid down and went to sleep.

The Warden called the Governor and informed him that it was indeed the inmate Mr. Nottingham that had ended the riot and freed them. The Governor thanked him for the information and hung up.

Sara and Jake called it a day after being told by their Captain that they had done a good job. Jake told Coleen everything that he could about the prison riot. Sara went home.
'Ok now what do I do? What are you planning? Will what Ian did help him in anyway?'
The Witchblade remain silent. Sara took a long hot shower and went to bed.
After the Warden spoke to Ian he found out about Officers Greetings, Duncan Greed and Darius Avaices involvement in the prison riot and had them turned over to the police for arrest.
