"What about the staff, they could present a problem couldn't they?"

"I have always been able to sense their presences and there is no one else here in the mansion but us."

Sara took her cell phone from her pocket and made the call to the station. She informed them of the double homicide and for them to send a team over.

When they arrived led by Jake. I told them what we saw. Mr. Irons' was attacking my brother and he defended himself. They killed each other before either I or Detective Pezzini here could intervene.

"Why are you here Sara?"

Before she could answer, I said. "Mr. Irons asked me to bring Detective Pezzini here as he had wanted to invite her to a Charity dinner for the widows and their families of slain Police Officers he was going to arrange. At least that is what he told me. It seems he wanted me out of the way so he could get rid of my brother."

"Now, why would he want to do that?"

"I guess we will never know the answer to that question, now will we?"

"I guess not."

"Is that what you saw, Sara?"

"Yea, it is Jake. You don't believe Nottingham?"

"Well I guess, if that is what you saw then I'll take him at his word."

"Detective Pezzini?"

"What is it Carb?"

Jake goes over and talks to the Coroner who is checking the bodies.

"I guess you haven't heard." Sara looks at him as do I. "The Captain and five other Officers are dead they were found in a warehouse on 11th Street."

"How?"

"It looks like a drug bust gone wrong. There was a bag of counterfeit money found at the crime scene. It was from the evidence room at the Station. The dealers must have been tipped off as to the money being counterfeit."

Lady Sara looked at me and I just tilted my head to the side a little.

"Do you have any idea who the dealers were?"

"No clues at all. The Captain had all the information on this one in his head."

"Detective McCarthy, I think you should know there is another body here at the mansion."

"What?" Both Jake and Lady Sara said at the same time looking at me.

"Mr. Irons' had the body of his beloved preserved and brought here to the mansion. It is the body of Ms Bronte. Before you ask, I was under orders not to inform anyone of this situation. I told them they could find her body in the south wing of the mansion."

Both Lady Sara and Jake left for the south wing after I told them how to get there.

The Coroner said, "I don't see any reason for an autopsy on these two as the cause of death is apparent. But as for Ms Bronte I may have to." She said to Detective Carb.

"Mr. Nottingham do you know if there is a death certificate for her on file somewhere?"

"I do not know. All I know is that she died in Batswana."

"Very well, I will check with the Batswana Government first. Thank you for the information. I imagine you will be making arrangements for the burial for all of them?"

"Yes, I guess it is up to me to do so. I will have to fine out if he had any arrangements set up first."

"There is no hurry, I understand you have a lot to process."

"Thank you for your kindness."

Lady Sara and Jake returned and the team packed up and left. They took the Sword Excalibur and the Black dagger with them. I had taken my Sword, the dagger Iron’s used and cleaned them then put them away all before the team arrived.

The Coroner took all three bodies with her.

“Jake, who’s running the show now?"

"Don't know yet. We just got the information on the Captain and the others just before we left to come here."

“Well it should be interesting then.”

"Sara, are you coming?"

"I'll be there in a little bit.

"Go ahead and go Detective Pezzini. I need to check and see if there are any instructions Mr. Irons had in place for his burial and I will need to contact the lawyer.”

"Go ahead and go to the car Jake and I'll be there in a second. I just want to say something to Nottingham here, alone."

"Sure thing, Sara."

"I don't think it is a good idea, Ian."

"I need to do this now, please Lady Sara."

"Alright, I will go but call me if you need anything. I'll get back here as soon as I can."

"Lady Sara, I need to process everything that has happened by myself. If I need your help I will call."

"Be careful Ian. I do need to see who will be in charge, now that that jerk of a Captain is dead."

"I will, please go now Lady Sara. I understand your concern M'lady but I have to do this for closure. I will also need to speak to the staff when they return tonight."

Sara left but did not like the feeling she was getting. She felt something was off but the Witchblade was mute. She couldn't put her finger on what it was that bothered her about leaving Ian alone in the mansion.

I was alone in the mansion that was my Masters'. I was at peace but it was an uneasy one. I went to his desk and sat down in, the chair that I had always stood behind. I started opening drawers to see what I had always wondered about. What did he keep in this desk? Would it hold the answer to my life long question of 'Who I am?'

Hool asked after ThorIan left to get the wood. "How did you come to call your son by his name?"

Cadman replied, "ThorIan was born during a thunderstorm. My wife and I had tried for several years to have a child. We considered him a blessing from God. So we put the two names together Thor meaning "Thunder" and Ian meaning "God's gracious gift".

"What day and time was he born? Does he have a birthmark behind his left ear that look like a figure eight."

"Why are you so interested in my son?"

"It is important for me to know. Please, trust me."

Only a few chosen ones knew the complete details of the signs that would come to pass before the legend would be fulfilled and Hool was the last of them.

"Very well, I will give you the answers to your questions? He was born on November 11, 1111 (BC) at 11:11:11 a.m. and he does have the mark you described."

"So he will be turning eighteen this November in the year 1088 (BC) is that right?"

"Yes."

"You are planning on making him a special sword for his up coming birthday!"

"Yes, I was. How did you know?"

"It was revealed to me is all I can say. The sword I have requested you to make, you must custom make it for your son."

"Why?"

At that moment Calatina came in and said to her husband. "Cadman, whatever this man asks you to do, you must do it without question." After saying this she left.

Cadman had learned to listen to his wife as she had proven to have a second sight. The things she had told him in the past had all come true. So he did not question her sayings.

"I will do as you have asked of me."

Hool spent time with ThorIan while his father made the items he had requested. One day Hool and ThorIan took a walk together and came to a cave. "Come inside with me ThorIan. I need to speak to you without distraction or observation." They went inside after gathering wood for a fire. After building the fire and sitting down ThorIan said, "What is it that you want of me?"

"ThorIan the legend is about to be fulfilled. I am the priest and have found the jeweled stone. That is why I have come to your father and to you. Your father is making the needed weapons that will defeat evil. I tell you this for only you to know and to keep others safe. Your father does not even know what it is he makes."

"Listen well and learn. According to the legend: the jeweled stone will be found by a priest. He will bless and empower the jeweled stone to defeat evil. When the stone is split in half and four items are made with the pieces. And a boy and a girl are born only one second apart on the same day, month and year. Each will bear a mark behind their left ear. When this all comes to pass the legend will be fulfilled. These two, if they accept their destiny, will be able to defeat evil if their hearts remain pure and free of hate."

"Am I the boy the legend speaks of and this is why you tell me these things?"

"Yes, ThorIan but you must not tell anyone including your father what I have said to you."

"If the legend is about to come true, then you have already found the girl. Where is she? Is she with you? Tell me about her?" ThorIan eyes lighted up at the thought of defeating evil.

"I have found her. But she does not know who or what she is. I did not know until I came here that she was the other chosen one. I must ask you something first?"

"If she agrees to take up her destiny as the judge of evil and becomes Justice, The Keeper of Good. Will you serve and protect her willing with your life?"

"Yes, I accept my destiny. I have already told you that I would give my life to defeat evil. I give you my word."

"Before we can continue, you must pass a test to prove you are worthy to receive the marks of the Protector. But I do not know what that test will be. I do not choose it."

"Yes, whatever the test is I will take it and pass it. I will also accept any marking necessary to become the Protector of Justice, The Keeper of Good."

Sara knew she could hear my voice in her head but wondered if I could hear hers. She decided to try besides what could it hurt she just might get some answers if it worked. Here goes.

"Ian are you ok?" Just wanted to let you know if you are asked where you met me today, tell them in the parking lot at the Station. Also, don't contact me by phone I think someone is checking out our relationship. Someone may phone you and ask some questions."

After I finished changing I went back to his desk and read through the papers I found there. The papers I found related to all of his business dealings when I heard Lady Sara's voice. Hearing her voice startled me.

"Lady Sara, it is nice to hear your voice. So this works both ways I was not sure if it did. I only knew I could reach out to you. I am fine. I have found nothing but business papers so far. I have called Mr. Guides, his lawyer he is on his way here. The staff hasn’t arrived back yet. If someone calls regarding where I met you, I will say what you have told me. Please, do not worry about me. I will manage but it is going to take some time. There is a lot to go through and will take me several days. I will contact you when I have finished, until then good night. M'Lady." I cut off the connection without letting her say anything more.

“Nottingham one of these days I will get the last word in just you wait.” She fumed.

I was finding that Irons had many illegal dealings that he was running. Having had to learn to speed read as part of my training was going to come in handy now. As I read I made three piles of papers, first was legal, second illegal and the third was illegal activities I was involved in. I was going to need good legal advise on what to do regarding the last pile of papers.

Forty-five minutes had passed when Mr. Guides arrived. About a half hour, before that the staff had arrived back. I figured I would get what I needed from Mr. Guides and after he left I would inform the staff. I had let the staff know by written instructions that when he arrived he was to be brought to the study.

-----------------------------The Folders------------------------------------------

"That is a good a place as any to start, I guess. Are you a speed reader?"

"No, I'm not."

"Then if you don't mind, I will read them and what I don't understand I'll ask you about, ok?" Having studied the law in my training, I didn't think I would have a problem understanding the language and terms used in the documents.

"Sounds good to me. I would rather finish as soon as possible, if you don't mind?"

"Let me start then." I read through the staff folder. He set up a fund for each of the staff that would provide for them for the rest of their life. The accounts were set up independently and all the money had been deposited and no more money was being added to those accounts. They could continue to live at the mansion or move, it would be their choice.

"Let me see the business folder, please." The businesses were to be run by the Board of Directors with half of the profits going to Charities. The businesses would be audited each year by an independent accounting firm that would change each year.

Mr. Guides handed me the next folder, Charities. The Charities would continue to receive their annual contributions from all his business holdings. They would be allowed to use the mansions West wing for fundraisers.

The next folder was about the Estate. The North wing was to be made into a museum, because of all the artifacts and antiques located throughout that part of the mansion. The South wing would become a hotel and the money was to be used for the upkeep of the Estate. The East wing would continue to be the staffs' private housing should they elect to stay. If not, then those who work for the hotel could live there. The West wing would be used by the Charities and when not in use by them, it could be rented out. The money from the rent would also go for the upkeep of the estate.

"The last folder is for your eyes only. Do you need me for anything else, Mr. Nottingham?" He said, as he handed me this folder.

It had only been a half hour since he had arrived. I handed him back the other folders. I took the last folder with my name on it and set it to the side. "Please look through these papers I removed them from the drawer and tell me what you know about them." I slid what I considered the legal business papers over to him and waited for him.

He glanced through them. "I recognize all these companies and their work. I have done several contracts for them."

He started to hand them back to me. "I think you should take them with you and do what's needed to be done with them. What about these?" I slid what I considered the illegal business papers to him.

"I don't know anything about these personally, but I do recognize some of the names and they are thought to be associated with illegal and shady dealings." He handed them back to me.

"Thank you, Mr. Guides. I only have one question; do you know a good honest Criminal lawyer? I believe I might need one."

"Yes, Mr. Nottingham. His name is Mr. Shallnot and his number is 996-321-1111. I'm sure he will be able to help you with any problems you may have, when he knows all the circumstances. Do you have any more questions?"

"No. Thank you for coming out and for Mr. Shallnots' name and number. Have a good evening. The police may come by in the next few days or weeks to speak with you concerning Mr. Irons and myself. Please, be completely honest with them about all you know. Please do whatever is necessary for these documents to take affect as soon as possible."

"Yes, I will do that. Good luck, Mr. Nottingham." To himself, Mr. Nottingham seems to be very nice since he is no longer under the influence of Mr. Irons' rule. Poor guy, what a terrible life he must have live with Mr. Irons.
